City Roadway Maintenance Concern - Dead Animal

The City of Altoona Public Works Highway Yard will only pick up deceased small game animals, including cats, found on City-owned streets and right-of-ways. If DPW determines that the deceased animal is a 'Large Game Animal', pickup will be refused, regardless of DPW's presence at the location.

Deceased dogs must be reported to the City of Altoona Dog Officer
Large Game Animals such as deer, bear, or elk must be reported to the Pennsylvania Game Commission Centralized Dispatch Center at: 1-833-PGC-HUNT (1-833-742-4868) or 1-833-PGC-WILD (1-833-742-9453).

Please ensure compliance with these guidelines for proper disposal and reporting of deceased animals within the city limits.
