The Spirit of Christmas Parade Information
Altoona, PA. - The City of Altoona's Spirit of Christmas Parade has kept the name and changed the day, time, route and sponsor. The City is teaming up this year with Seven Mountains Media to bring an afternoon parade on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. The parade route will also be extended to accomodate the large crowd.
The parade will form at 17th Street and 9th Avenue to 12th Avenue and 12th Street to 11th Avenue to 16th Street.

There is a $50.00 fee which will increase to $75.00 after October 31st. The fees will be donated to local non-profit organizations.
There are also cash prizes awarded this year for bands/drum corps, non-profits and businesses. After the parade tune in to one of the following radio stations where the winners will be announced!

The City of Altoona will also host the following events taking place prior to the parade on Friday evening, December 1st, beginning at 6:00 p.m. to include live music from our area schools, Christmas movies, hot chocolate, snacks, and food vendors. To complete the evening there will be a tree lighting and fireworks at Heritage Plaza.
The Blair Emergency Services Chaplain Platoon will hold their annual Ugly Christmas Sweater 5K/2 Mile Fun Walk on Saturday, December 2nd prior to the parade at 9:00 a.m. in Downtown Altoona's Heritage Plaza. Register at RUNSIGNUP.COM/BESCPUGLYSWEATER5KOR2MILEWALK
Don't forget to wear your UGLY SWEATER!
