Calling All Fiber Artists: Join the City of Altoona
in Crafting a Yarn Mural
(Altoona, PA) - The City of Altoona is looking for community members of all ages and skill levels who are interested in knitting and crocheting to participate in a Yarn Mural project between now and mid-October. Interested artists will help create the yarn murals to be placed on downtown light posts with the goal of repurposing the artwork after it is on display.
For more information and details, please contact Community Engagement Specialist, Emily Evey, at communityengagement@altoonapa.gov. Regular ‘knit ins’ (meetings where participants can socialize and work on their projects) are currently being organized as well as remote participation opportunities, workshops, and installation details.
The next knit in will be the first Saturday of September.
