Subdivision & Land Development (SALDO)
Subdivision & Land Development (SALDO)
Subdivision Regulations: Subdivision regulations address how parcels of land may be divided into sections or merged together. The regulations are located in the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO). City Staff and the Altoona City Planning Commission administer the regulations, as detailed in the document. Contacting the City to review potential plans is highly recommended prior to taking further action, to include submission of plans. Typically, a lot plan, prepared by a licensed professional, must be submitted to the City of Altoona for review and response, which may require necessary changes. The Altoona City Planning Commission or City of Altoona staff will approve the plans. This depends on how substantial the plans are. The final step is to record the plans at the Blair County Courthouse. The applicant is responsible for the City's review fees as well as those of its consulting engineer, when applicable. Please contact Planning & Development Manager, Sabrina Appel-McMillen at 814-949-2465 or use this contact E-Form with subdivision questions.
